The Mott Haven Community Partnership believes every resident or individual deserves equal opportunities to finding employment. All organizations have different requirements for each role and the way to improve your chances is by having the key skills. The following organizations are some of the partners we currently work with offering different training opportunities. Also, there are different training opportunities based on different needs. Each has been selected based on the level of engagement in the South Bronx and with the partnership. Please contact us to get in contact with one of these organizations. The NYC DOHMH Education and Community Partnerships Unit (ECP) offers workshop and training on environmental health hazards in the home. For a listing of the presentation topics and or attend one of our monthly virtual webinar, you can visit: Healthy Homes Community Workshops and Trainings - NYC Health or google healthyhomes community workshops.  A certificate is provided at each virtual workshops. IncludeNYC offers free online and in-person workshops for parents, students, and professionals on how to navigate special education and disability systems, access community resources, and understand NYC Department of Education procedures and processes.

Our workshops offer parents information and insights about age-appropriate behavior in their child’s development and how early intervention can prevent children from developing negative psychological experiences. The workshops also focus on the effects of trauma on children and how to prevent traumatic incidents from occurring. Every workshop is designed to help parents support their child’s mental well-being as well as their own.

The Child Mind Institute’s expert clinical staff is available for professional development workshops (in-person and via webinar) for businesses, non-profits, public, private, independent and charter school communities. Our school talks provide actionable strategies for staff, parents, teachers, counselors and administrators to help support Pre-K through 12th grade students’ mental health and learning needs.The Child Mind Institute’s expert, board-certified clinicians are also available for webinars and workshops for families and caregivers of children of all ages. Our talks combine evidence-based research and practical, actionable strategies for supporting children with mental health and learning issues.

Per Scholas IT Support offers the opportunity to earn the Google IT Support Professional Certificate and the CompTIA A+ certification, equipping you with the knowledge to fill a wide range of entry-level technology jobs.

The Office of Training and Workforce Development offers in-person instructor-led, eLearning, and virtual instructor-led trainings to direct service staff and supervisors at ACS and its many partner agencies across the child welfare and juvenile justice sectors. The Office of Training and Workforce Development uses a variety of adult learning methods, including new technologies, online resources, and simulation to equip direct service staff and supervisors with the skills they need to support children, youth, and families.

Our employment program, GOSOWorks, connects job-ready participants to subsidized internship-to-employment opportunities with employer partners in a range of sectors across the city. When an intern is placed with an employer partner, GOSO provides wages up to the first 240 hours of work, after which employers can directly hire a participant.

Fresh Start will provide comprehensive supportive services to our students and refer them to partners for housing, substance-misuse, and other needs, all to ensure they stay stable and healthy. Intensive case management is recognized as the best practice in reducing recidivism for recently released ex-offenders.
